Improved Education

Despite spending $128 Billion on education, California miserably trails other states in educational resources and results.  Parents have fewer choices, diminishing resources, and teachers struggling to survive.  I’ll focus heavily on addressing the following issues related to education:

  • Addressing the administrative overhead of our inefficient educational bureaucracies, while improving teacher salaries.

  • Ensuring that budgets allocated as “Per Pupil” on paper are actually spent on the students themselves.

  • Improving the parental rights and visibility into their child’s education.

  • Improving “student achievement” scores to make students more nationally competitive.

  • Preparing our children for the real world, in terms of skillsets and mindset, with more life-based programs.

  • Increasing vocational options for kids to go into the trades and disciplines that offer alternative career paths.

Stronger Economy

California is the 5th largest economy globally and the most prosperous of all 50 states with a $3.6T GDP in 2022.   Yet our politicians struggle to balance our budget or to fund the most important needs of our people based on this revenue.  I’ll support legislation to promote economic growth related to:

  • Remove employer mandates (like SB 553) that are not sustainable or reflective of the needs of small business owners.

  • Reduce the regulations affecting profitability and personnel restrictions,  so that such companies can operate more efficiently and give jobs back to people in our district.

  • Address the sales taxes that directly affect our cost of living, related to gas, food, and all the products during a horribly difficult inflationary time.

higher Quality of life

A rising tide raises all boats and will allow future generations to pursue their careers with the confidence that they too can build a home and family here.  I will use my business background to find solutions to the problems incumbent politicians have failed to address, including:

  • Improving the congestion of 101 and local traffic that is not keeping up with new homes, with public transportation solutions that have been promised for decades.

  • Fixing the housing shortage and unavailability of affordable housing, especially for those teachers, firefighters, and other persons living outside our district just to have a job.

  • Addressing the high-cost of healthcare, to provide more options, accessibility, and affordability in ways that allow citizens to choose what is best for them.

  • Secure more state and federal funding for local infrastructure (roads, buildings, public services) while auditing local government programs to eliminate wasteful spending.

SAFER COMMUNITIES

The current political administration has openly supported “Defund the Police” and BLM during election years, and has passed legislation removing consequences for criminal behavior, leading to a significant increase in crime and concerns of public safety within our district.  I will prioritize:

  • Reducing crime through re-institution of penalties and consequences for criminals, as well as improved programs to prevent youth from entering criminal circles initially.

  • Significantly increasing resources and legislation to empower law enforcement’s authority to do their job and keep our communities safe again.

  • Fixing the homelessness crisis with a more comprehensive and holistic approach.  I will provide a dignified and humanitarian path for fellow citizens by better managing the funds allocated, and driving more towards mental health and addiction-related support.

  • Secure state investments for more in our local communities, including downtown and public amenities, parks and lighting.
